Business Opportunities in the City

The City's business community contains retail, professional offices and neighborhood services in one-half mile on Sierra Madre Boulevard and along Baldwin Avenue. Most of these businesses are individually owned and found nowhere else.

In 2012, the City commissioned a Market Demand Study, which it has made available to both local and prospective businesses. A copy of this study is available from the Planning & Community Preservation Department, Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Local Economy

Sierra Madre is a small city, approximately 3.5 square miles, with approximately 11,000 residents. It is among the smallest cities in all of Los Angeles County. Sierra Madre has no direct freeway access and a limited retail and service area of approximately 6 blocks. Since its’ incorporation 100 years ago, Sierra Madre has always been, and remains today, a non-contract city. All services are proudly provided in-house.
