One Book One City 2025

The Sierra Madre Public Library is honored to announce the 2025 One Book One City selection, What You Are Looking For is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama. One Book One City is a community reading program that invites everyone in Sierra Madre to read and discuss the same book during February 2025 and participate in exciting programs and events.

This fabulous community program includes a Publication Opportunity through the Library with a book reading & signing event, Sip & Shush Silent Book Club at RT Rogers Brewing, Co., an “Off the Page” stage reading at the Sierra Madre Playhouse, and more! 

What You Are Looking for is in the Library is Aoyama’s first book translated into English. In this book, five individuals at different crossroads in their lives find themselves in the Hatori Community House in front of Librarian Sayuri Komachi. While these individuals are looking for specific books, which Librarian Komachi is happy to provide, she also provides an additional book that changes their perspective. 

Throughout the month of February, extra copies of What You Are Looking for is in the Library will be available for checkout at the Library, as well as extra downloadable eBook copies via Libby.

Cricut - STEAM Station

The Cricut is an electronic cutting machine for DIY crafts and projects. The machine is available during open Library hours and no appointment is necessary. We recommend you attend our once a month Cricut Basic Intro Workshop first to learn how to use the Library's machine. An adult must accompany all users under age 13. Check the Library's Event Calendar for specific dates of the Cricut Intro Workshops.

3D Printer - STEAM Station

3D Printing is the process of making a physical object from a digital model. 3D Printing is available at the Library on a first-come, first-served basis. An adult must accompany all users under age 13.
