Historic Preservation Ordinance

The City of Sierra Madre has a decades-long commitment to historic preservation as documented in the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance. Various initiatives for promoting preservation in the community have taken place beginning with an effort by community members to recognize significant historic structures as part of the US Bicentennial celebration in 1976. In addition to grassroots community efforts, the City has also adopted preservation policies and enacted regulations to prevent the loss of historic structures.
